Austin, Texas, calls itself the Live Music Capital of the
World. Back in the 1970s, country music mixed with rock-and-roll to
create the "Austin sound." Its cradle was the Armadillo World
Headquarters, where the so-called hippies and rednecks came
together over cold beer, cheap nachos, and cosmic cowboy sounds.

in Austin today.
